Day In The Life of A Finden Marketing Intern

Some of you may have questions about what it is like to be a Finden intern. Well, my name is Drew and I am here to hopefully answer those questions. I have been working with Finden for five months now, and I can say I have definitely seen growth within myself. Coming into the position, I was not sure what to expect. After all, I hadn’t ever worked for a marketing agency. However, Josh and Andrew (the owners) were swift to move me along and get me adjusted to my responsibilities.

Luckily, both Josh and Andrew were extremely effective in communicating exactly what they needed from me. This made my job very straightforward, as some of my past internships sort of threw me to the sharks. As an intern, I was in charge of managing all client social media, partial graphic design, and photography/videography. Once I was comfortable with these items, I was tasked with others, such as website audits, updating our portfolio, and aiding in other miscellaneous tasks.

Overall, my experience with Finden so far has been smooth and rewarding. I have felt my workflow and skills increase, which allows me to be more confident and independent in my work. Josh and Andrew have been great to work with, and allow me to explore my own creativity. We also were awarded best Web Design and Graphic Design by CommunityVotes 2022, which just showed me that we were able to accomplish some amazing things.

What An Average Day Looks Like:

The morning schedule:

8:30 am: Normally, I wake up around this time to get an early start to the day. I will eat breakfast, shower, and get ready for the day overall.

9:00 am: I jump right into the work day, answering any messages or emails that need a response. I will look into my daily tasks to make sure everything is accounted for. I will log into the weekly Finden meeting where we go over goals for the week and month. Josh, Andrew, and I will communicate whatever we need from one another, and once everything is covered we will go our separate ways.

10:00 am: From there, I tend to start working on any posts or graphic design that needs attending to. I will also post anything that was scheduled for that day for various different clients, and even Finden itself. This is the timeframe where most of my work gets done.

Afternoon Schedule:

12:00 pm: Around noon I will take a lunch break and look over any schoolwork I have for the rest of the day. Here is my time to relax at home and get ready for the rest of my day.

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: After lunch I tend to head to the University of Minnesota Duluth (where I go to college) and finish up any work I hadn’t finished up that day. This tends to be more graphic design work, more posts depending on how many each account has for the day, and other miscellaneous tasks.

6:00 pm: After I am done with class, I will look into anything I have left regarding my work. By this time most of my work is done, but there are occasions where I have something that needs to be done. If not, I close out all of my apps and tabs regarding work and finish the day!
