Northshore Inline Marathon

The NorthShore Inline Marathon needed help with their marketing for their 2022 series of events. This included social media marketing, graphic design, shirt design, medal design, online advertising, marketing consulting, website maintenance, and more for their 26th annual event.

What Our Client Was Facing:

The problem that the NorthShore Inline Marathon was facing was that their returning customers was starting to age out of racing and they were having a problem attracting a new audience that would want to do the race. The NorthShore Inline Marathon (NSIM) is North America’s largest inline marathon. Located on the shores of lake superior, NSIM runs the same route as the esteemed Grandma’s marathon. With 9 different events including skating, running, and roller skiing the NorthShore Inline Marathon was quite a fun project. We were back at it with the NSIM for their 26th annual marathon and gave it the Superior feeling of Fall.

What We Accomplished:

The Finden Marketing team came together with leadership from NSIM to plan out for the 2022 event.

Our team came to the conclusion that the main goal of the year was to continue to attract new skaters, runners, and rollerskiers to partake in this event. With that in mind our team went to action utilizing multiple platforms to boost awareness of the event including social media, online advertising, public forums, news outlets, and more. This led to a big boost in engagement and eventually led to an increase in overall registrants.

The Results:

The 2022 event had an overall registration increase of over 15% with growth reaching pre-pandemic levels. On the marketing side of things all numbers were up. On Facebook their pages we organically grew their page likes by over 6%, and substantially increased their organic reach compared to prior years. Email Marketing was a huge success and our team sent out nearly 150,000 emails to our data pool. That pool led to a 43% open rate with a total of over 68,000 open emails throughout the year. On the advertising front our team used Google ads to gain interest of the product throughout the United states and saw a 1,479% increase in impressions, saw an 873% increase in clicks, and drew over 33,000 people to NorthShore’s website.
